Art Journal
I am not feeling the need to add any words to this page...just experimenting with layers. I ruined three black pens doing the squiggles...a fine tipped sharpie,a micron and a pilot...anyone know of a pen that will write over inks, paints and oil pastels without dying? Maybe a dip pen with india ink? But I wouldn't be able to get the continuous line I am after...dip pens are so frustrating. Well at any rate...I will call this page done for now.

Like your painting, beautiful colors :-)
ReplyDeleteterrific layers of colour and fab designs. Happy PPF, Annette x
ReplyDeleteI love oil pastels too, but haven't figured out a pen that lasts yet...I'm wondering about spraying a fixative on prior to journaling...have you tried that remedy yet? Anyhoo..great patterns you're sharing for PPF:)
ReplyDeleteI really love the color and movement in your pages. I would also think that spraying a fixative might work -if you are patient enough (I'm not) to wait for the paints to dry
ReplyDeletethis page is gorgeous and I use a pen my a company Micador which is called a stay anywhere permanent pen and it is awesome... they really do take a lot of abuse and just keep going... xx
ReplyDeleteWhat rich textures and deep colors! I can't offer any pen advice- I ruin them all the time...
ReplyDeleteWhat a vibrant piece! The colors play against each other so well...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous brilliant colors with lots of wonderful rhythm!

Love love love those colours! Maaybe you could try an acrylic paintpen, like Posca. They usually write good on paint and ink, not so sure about the oil pastels though ...
ReplyDeleteSakura gelly pens actually do a pretty good job of not dying - at least I haven't killed any of mine yet! (Admittedly I'm mostly writing over acrylic paint - not sure how they'd do over pastel) They're cheap, too, which is always nice. Most of the colors don't come in very fine-point versions, but the fine-tip black should be fine for this. Happy belated PPF!
